METAL TILL THE END! 12" Vinyl
Wardress were originally formed in Nürtingen in 1983 and have been dedicated to 80s NWOBHM ever since, but failed to cement their status with an album release in their early years. It took a quasi-re-formation in 2018 when guitarist Gor and vocalist Erich decided to finally put some recovered original song material from the band's early days on record. So in 2019 they finally released their debut "Dress For War" (2019) on which old songs as well as current material were immortalised.
The band used the time of the pandemic measures to work on their second album "Metal Til The End", on which the band remains stylistically true to their roots and at the same time makes the album title the programme! Sawing riffs with surprising breaks and anthemic melodies alternating with exploding solos, complemented by bitingly ironic lyrics. Production and mix, for which Rolf Munkes is responsible in the Empire Studio in Bensheim, provides a dynamic live-like atmosphere.
"Metal 'Til the End" seems to breathe, sweat and bleed. Heavy metal in its purest form, original and yet simply timeless!

Stagewar, founded in 2003 in the Frankfurt area, live up to their name and have developed into a tireless live band over the last few years, playing a good 200 shows to date, with more to follow after the release of their third longplayer "Danger To Ourselves". The band themselves describe their style as "straight thrash metal with a good portion of rock'n'roll", which basically hits the nail on the head!
The present 8 tracks captivate with catchy and multilayered arrangements. The whole thing was mixed and mastered at Pitchback Studios by Aljoscha Sieg (Suidakra, Eskimo Callboy, among others), which promises a brilliant production. The album's artwork is by tattoo artist James Reuter (Remember Tomorrow Tattoos) and enhances not only the digipak but also the vinyl edition in a fold-out gatefold.

With "Cosmic Dreams", the Swabians around masterminds Carsten Sauter and Stefan Zörner present their third, most mature and at the same time most intense work. On the new album, the band surprises with a departure from the rather thrash-influenced predecessors to high-class arranged and produced tracks, which nevertheless unite all the trademarks that make up the band: melody, heaviness and variety between the otherwise so rigid metal pigeonholes.
A striking feature is the use of keyboards for the first time, which give Zörner's lyrics, which deal with the diaspora into outer space, the coldness of the stars and the increasing coldness of humans, gloomy dystophies and failed dreams, a perfect futuristic framework. The music is sometimes intricate and progressive ("Cosmic Dreams", "Blitzwerfer Blues", "Seemingly"), sometimes grippingly hard ("Only Scars Remain", "Depths of Nothingness") but also epic and expansive ("The Narrow Sleep", "Astronaut", "My Reternity"). Is this heavy metal, thrash, doom, prog, death or nu metal? Who cares! The result is a homogeneous sounding statement in metal!
With the producer of choice, Andy Horn (Fight feat. Rob Halford, Rob Rock, Cage, Edenbridge a.o.) and fresh blood on drums and bass, they worked intensively for months on an album that can undoubtedly play in the top league and is a groundbreaking album by the ambitious southern Germans.

In addition, the band always impressed on stage, both at their many single-weekend shows and on the numerous tours of their career. Stormwitch's best-known fans are the Swedish heavy metal monsters Hammerfall, who also covered the track "Ravenlord" from the album "Stronger Than Heaven".

31 years after their last regular longplayer "Mistreated" the German Speed Metal veterans of SDI are back with a new album! Already since 2013 the resumed activities of the band have been condensed with several concerts and festival appearances and so the band was on stage again at the "Keep It True", the "True Trash Fest" in Japan, as well as the Czech "Obscene Extreme" and several shows and tours across Europe since 2017.

Heavy Metal Pioneers!
Dutch heavy metal pioneers EMERALD are probably one of the best-kept secrets of this country's music. Founded in the mid-70s by school friends, they recorded a few demo tapes under different band names. The first one was from 1976 and it was a long way until 1984 when they changed their name to EMERALD, influenced by the THIN LIZZY anthem. The first album, a collection of demo tracks and some new songs, was eventually released by a label that went bankrupt shortly after and the album faded into obscurity. The band continued for a while, but then disbanded at the end of the 80s.
In 1998, the band was contacted by the German metal underground fanzine "That's Metal", which brought the band back into the spotlight. The German label Iron Glory finally re-released the debut album in 1999 under the name "Iron On Iron", after which the band received very good reviews worldwide and also started performing live again from 2000.
As the album has been out of print for a long time, we have re-released this gem in cooperation with Iron Glory Records to make it accessible to all those metalheads who don't have this album in their collection, which should concern a whole generation of metalheads who have joined since then.

Old School Melodic Death Metal Highlight !
Seit 25 Jahren ziehen BATTLESWORD nun schon ihre Kreise durch schwermetallische Gefilde und legen zu diesem Anlass ihren fünften Longplayer vor, welcher in seinem Titel "(XX)V" sowohl auf das Jubiläum, als auch die Albumnummer anspielt. Auch den Zusatz „Of Tales And Tragedies“ kann man getrost als Anlehnung an die Historie der Band und der Dinge die man in so einer Zeitspanne durchlebt deuten.
Musikalisch machen Battlesword unbeirrt dort weiter wo sie zum Glück nie aufgehört haben: Es gibt den typischen Battlesword Sound, der immer mal wieder durch neue Elemente erweitert wurde. Von fast doomigen Parts bis hin zu gnadenlosen Blasts wird die stilistische Abwechslung einerseits nicht überstrapaziert, ist aber dennoch vielschichtig genug um bei den 11 Songs über die komplette Laufzeit nie Langeweile aufkommen zu lassen. Wie schon beim Vorgänger wurde „(XX)V“ im Big Easy Studio in Hennef von Michael "Freio" Haas aufgenommen und gemixt, während man das Mastering erneut in die Hände von Dan Swanö gelegt hat.
Ein Novum in der Battlesword Historie ist übrigens, dass es bei „(XX)V - Of Tales And Tragedies“ keine Änderungen im Line-Up gegeben hat und man sich beim Song "Brethren Of The Sword" quasi eine Hommage an sich selbst erlaubt und gegönnt hat. Darüberhinaus gibt es natürlich nach wie vor genau das, was man von einem zünftigen Melodic Death Metal,- und einem Battlesword Album im speziellen - erwartet.

New edition of the completely sold-out 2018 album by Lower Saxony melodic death/thrashers Final Cry. With "Zombique", the band made an impressive comeback after 11 years of radio silence and released the rawest and heaviest album in their history to date. Guitarist Eiko, who took over the vocals in the meantime, characterizes this album with deep growls (rather unusual for Final Cry up to this point) and contributes a lot to the fact that the content concept, which revolves around voodoo cults and zombie stories among the Caribbean slaves with partly historically documented protagonists and their influence up to the Haitian revolution, also unfolds musically in full brutality.

Dan Lorenzo (ex-Hades, Non Fiction, Patriarchs In Black) ist eine fleischgewordene Riff Maschine, oder wie die Fachpresse ihm oft bescheinigte: Seine Meisterschaft in der Kunst echte, lebensnahe Riffs zu schreiben ist unübertroffen! Mit „Dread To Dawn“ treten Cassius King auf ihrem Zweitlingswerk erneut den Beweis dieser Aussage an.
Auf 11 Songs wälzt sich das Quartett durch schleppende, ergreifende Melodien, umschlungen von den markanten Vocals von Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys), welche dem Gesamtsound eine authentische Tiefe verleihen und getrieben von den erbarmungslosen Grooves eines Ron Lipnicki (ex-Overkill, Whiplash). Cassius King ist ein vertontes Gefühl, welchem man mit den Oberbegriffen Doom und Stoner eigentlich nicht gerecht werden kann. Zählt man Dan Lorenzos gleichnamiges Solo Album aus dem Jahr 2004 mit, ist der Nachfolger des letztjährigen „Field Trip“ bereits der dritte Longplayer in nahezu identischer Besetzung. Wer sich von den vorliegenden Songs in die Tiefe reißen lässt, wird unwillkürlich hoffen, dass es nicht das letzte seiner Art ist.
