METAL TILL THE END! Wardress wurden ursprünglich bereits 1983 in Nürtingen gegründet und haben sich seitdem dem 80er NWOBHM verschrieben, es aber in ihren Anfangsjahren versäumt ihren Status mit einem entsprechenden Albumrelease zu zementieren. Es bedurfte einer quasi-Neugründung im Jahr 2018 als Gitarrist Gor und Sänger Erich beschlossen, wiedergefundenes Original-Songmaterial aus den Anfangszeiten der Band endlich auf Tonträger zu bannen. So erschein 2019 dann endlich ihr Debut „Dress For War“ (2019) auf welchem alten Songs auch aktuelles Material verewigt wurden. Die Zeit der Pandemiemaßnahmen nutze die Band für die Arbeiten an ihrem hier vorliegenden zweiten Album „Metal Til The End“, auf welchem die Band ihren Wurzeln stilistisch treu bleibt und den Albumtitel gleichzeitig zum Programm macht! Sägende Riffs mit überraschenden Breaks und hymnische Melodien im Wechsel mit explodierenden Soli, ergänzt durch bissig-ironische Texte. Produktion und Mix, für welche sich Rolf Munkes im Empire Studio in Bensheim verantwortlich zeigt, sorgt für eine dynamische live-artige Atmosphäre. „Metal ´Til the End“ scheint geradezu zu atmen, zu schwitzen und zu bluten. Heavy Metal in Reinform, ursprünglich und dennoch einfach zeitlos!

All Hail to the King!  Dan Lorenzo (ex-Hades, Non Fiction, Patriarchs In Black) ist eine fleischgewordene Riff Maschine, oder wie die Fachpresse ihm oft bescheinigte: Seine Meisterschaft in der Kunst echte, lebensnahe Riffs zu schreiben ist unübertroffen! Mit „Dread To Dawn“ treten Cassius King auf ihrem Zweitlingswerk erneut den Beweis dieser Aussage an.  Auf 11 Songs wälzt sich das Quartett durch schleppende, ergreifende Melodien, umschlungen von den markanten Vocals von Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys), welche dem Gesamtsound eine authentische Tiefe verleihen und getrieben von den erbarmungslosen Grooves eines Ron Lipnicki (ex-Overkill, Whiplash). Cassius King ist ein vertontes Gefühl, welchem man mit den Oberbegriffen Doom und Stoner eigentlich nicht gerecht werden kann. Mit dem Release von „Dread To Dawn“ beweisen die Herren zudem, dass es sich bei Cassius King um deutlich mehr handelt, als ein einmalig konstruiertes All-Star Projekt. Zählt man Dan Lorenzos gleichnamiges Solo Album aus dem Jahr 2004 mit, ist der Nachfolger des letztjährigen „Field Trip“ bereits der dritte Longplayer in nahezu identischer Besetzung. All roads lead to Black Sabbath! When New Jersey scene veteran Dan Lorenzo (Hades, Non-Fiction) was looking for musicians for his new project, Overkill's Bobby Blitz gave him the idea of knocking on John Kelly's (Danzig, Type O Negative) door, because - according to Blitz - "he would fit your riffs perfectly". Blitz was right and Lorenzo and Kelly, who had never worked together before, formed PATRIARCHS IN BLACK. The duo makes no secret of where the musical heart of this collaboration beats - to put it in Kelly's words: "All roads lead to Black Sabbath!" So on these nine groovy songs there are many dragging riffs, with which homage is paid to the forefathers of doom, on the one hand - and on the other hand such a snotty-rock charm that would also make the album a perfect soundtrack for a remake of "Easy Rider". For "Reach For The Scars", the duo recruited a whole host of guest musicians who each put their own stamp on the songs. On this album, Karl Agell (COC), Dewey Bragg (Kill Devil Hill), Rob Traynor (Black Water Rising), John Kosco (Dropbox), Eric J. Morgan (A Pale Horse Named Death) and Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog), among others, give each song a unique authenticity that makes the overall result an entertaining and varied pleasure. TRACKLIST 1. Female fronted Melodic Metal! Lankester Merrin, erst 2019 gegründet, schicken sich in kürzester Zeit an, sich zu einem ernsthaften Schwergewicht in Sachen female fronted Melodic/Power Metal aufzuschwingen. Wirkte das 2021 erschienene Debut „Upon The Forgotten“ noch wie das erste Lebenszeichen einer Band, die sich und ihren Platz scheinbar erst noch finden muß, legt man keine zwei Jahre später mit „Dark Mother Rises“ einen Nachfolger vor, der von einer schier explosionshaften Entwicklung kündet. „Dark Mother Rises“ bietet 9 kraftvolle, ausgereifte Melodic Metal Hymnen, welche mit einem Selbstverständnis vorgetragen werden, mit welchem es bisweilen selbst alteingesessene Szenegröße nicht vermögen ihr musikalisches Schaffen zu krönen. Das Album besticht dabei nicht nur durch ein messerscharfes Riffing, großartige Solos, treibendes Drumming und die prägnante Stimme von Cat Rogers, sondern auch durch unglaublich ausgefeilte Arrangements, die nahezu jeden Song zu einem Ohrwurm machen!  Aufgenommen im Frühjahr 2022 im Institut für Wohlklangforschung in Hannover (u.a. Drone, Grailknights) unter der Regie von Hannes Huke und Willi Dammeier ist „Dark Mother Rises“ ein erstklassiges Album für alle Fans von melodischem Metal, die trotz dem Attribut „female fronted“ kein Symphonic Metal, sondern einfach nur kraftvollen modernen Metal der Extraklasse erwarten.

Heavy Metal Pioneers! Dutch heavy metal pioneers EMERALD are probably one of the best-kept secrets of this country's music. Founded in the mid-70s by school friends, they recorded a few demo tapes under different band names. The first one was from 1976 and it was a long way until 1984 when they changed their name to EMERALD, influenced by the THIN LIZZY anthem. The first album, a collection of demo tracks and some new songs, was eventually released by a label that went bankrupt shortly after and the album faded into obscurity. The band continued for a while, but then disbanded at the end of the 80s. In 1998, the band was contacted by the German metal underground fanzine "That's Metal", which brought the band back into the spotlight. The German label Iron Glory finally re-released the debut album in 1999 under the name "Iron On Iron", after which the band received very good reviews worldwide and also started performing live again from 2000. As the album has been out of print for a long time, we have re-released this gem in cooperation with Iron Glory Records to make it accessible to all those metalheads who don't have this album in their collection, which should concern a whole generation of metalheads who have joined since then. Heavy Metal Classics! The self-proclaimed Masters Of Black Romantic were founded in 1979 in the Bavarian village of Gerstetten. In 1984, they recorded their debut album "Walpurgis Night" for Gama Records. In the course of their career, the band had to compensate for many line-up changes, but they always managed to create something special with every album. In addition, the band always impressed on stage, both at their many single-weekend shows and on the numerous tours of their career. Like their label mates S.D.I., Stormwitch were also very popular behind the Iron Curtain, although their albums were usually hard to get in Eastern Europe. Stormwitch's best-known fans are the Swedish heavy metal monsters Hammerfall, who also covered the track "Ravenlord" from the album "Stronger Than Heaven".   Stormwitch are still active today and have released 13 albums so far. The reissued "Stronger Than Heaven" and "The Beauty And The Beast" are from 1986/87 and are still classics of the band.
